Little Miss Opening Line, eight years old and exuding independence, has put her Littlest Pet Shop characters aside recently to spend time on a new interest: Minecraft, played on Mom’s iPad.

So that’s one small vote of support for Microsoft’s bid to buy the software maker behind the Minecraft phenomenon, Mojang, for a price reported to be north of $2 billion. Microsoft would be betting that, even after five years, Minecraft still has growth ahead and an enduring appeal.
