Colombian Inflation Rate Accelerates to Fastest Pace Since 2012

Colombian inflation unexpectedly accelerated back to mid-point of the central bank’s target range in August, led by a surge in housing and food costs.
Consumer prices rose 3.02 percent from a year earlier, the national stastics agency said Sept. 5, ending a period of below-target inflation that lasted 22 months. Prices rose 0.2 percent from a month earlier, exceeding all but one forecast in a Bloomberg survey of 25 analysts, whose median estimate was 0.13 percent.
