U.K. Independence Party leader Nigel Farage said he plans to run for Parliament in the South Thanet district next year, seeking a first seat in the House of Commons for the anti-European Union group.

“I am no shoo-in for South Thanet but I have thrown my hat in the ring,” Farage said in a Twitter posting today.
