Chile Economy Grows at Slowest Pace in More Than Four Years

Chile’s economy grew less than analysts expected in June, expanding at the slowest pace since the aftermath of an earthquake in February 2010 that devastated the center-south of the country.

The Imacec Index, a proxy for gross domestic product, expanded 0.8 percent from a year earlier, the central bank said today. The median forecast of 14 economists surveyed by Bloomberg was for growth of 2 percent. Economic activity contracted 0.8 percent from the previous month.
