A bomb attack killed at least 14 people watching a World Cup soccer match in northeastern Nigeria, police said, a week after authorities warned that venues showing live coverage may be targeted.

The explosion tore through a crowd watching the game between Brazil and Mexico yesterday at a viewing center in Damaturu, about 570 kilometers (354 miles) northeast of the capital, Abuja.
