The sale of Greece’s majority stake in Athens Water Supply and Sewage Company SA is unconstitutional, according to a ruling by the country’s State Council, government-run Athens News Agency reports.
The court’s ruling follows a petition signed by citizens of the wider area of Athens, where the company distributes potable water, asking for annulment of government decision to transfer its 34 percent stake to the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund, ANA says, without saying how it got the information.
