Germany’s onshore wind-energy industry directly and indirectly employs about 109,000 people in Europe’s biggest economy, according to a study commissioned by the industry.
Investments by the sector totaled about 8.2 billion euros ($11 billion) in 2012, according to the report by consultants DIW Econ published today in Berlin. About 67 percent of German wind-power products are sold abroad, the BWE wind lobby said in a statement.
