General Motors Co., the target of U.S. government investigations about its handling of a defective ignition switch in its cars, will repair 56,214 Saturn Aura sedans over transmission cables that can fracture.
The 2007-2008 Saturns may not be able to shift into the park gear if the cables fracture, the largest U.S. automaker said in a notice posted today on a government website. The cars may roll away while drivers and passengers exit, GM said.
