Portugal said it will seek to sell 10-year bonds at an auction next week for the first time since requesting a European Union-bailout in April 2011.

The government debt agency IGCP announced today it will sell as much as 750 million euros ($1.04 billion) of securities due in February 2024 on April 23. The agency said earlier this month it planned to hold one or two auctions this quarter, with expected issuance at each sale of between 500 million euros and 750 million euros. They are to be held on the second or fourth Wednesday of the month.
