Erdogan Says Turkey Will Elect New President in August Smoothly

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Turkey will hold presidential elections without sparking tensions that could threaten the economy.

“We will conduct this process smoothly,” Erdogan said, addressing his lawmakers in parliament today. “We will complete this process without allowing the slightest risk to the economy and democracy, or uncertainty.”
