NASA to Continue Scientific Work With Russia After Sanctions

NASA’s scientific cooperation with Russia will extend beyond joint support of the International Space Station even after the U.S. imposed sanctions over the annexation of Crimea.
Space-related work with Russia will be reviewed on a “case-by-case basis,” Allard Beutel, a spokesman for NASA, said in an e-mailed response to questions late yesterday. The U.S. agency said April 3 that it was suspending the “majority” of its engagements with Russia because of violations of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
