Students Resist Meeting Taiwan President Over Lack of Consensus

Students who seized Taiwan’s legislature more than a week ago won’t accept an offer to meet with President Ma Ying-jeou until he shows he better understands their demands, a protest leader said.
“He doesn’t really know why the students are still here,” Meredith Huang, a student representative, said by phone. “He doesn’t accept what the students want.”
