Twelve bottles of Chateau Haut-Brion 2009, a first-growth Bordeaux wine estate, sold for a record low 5,100 pounds ($8,410) on Liv-ex this month as demand for recent vintages from top estates remained weak.

The sale on March 17 was 23 percent below last year’s high of 6,600 pounds a case in March, according to data on Liv-ex’s Cellar Watch website. A further 12 bottles fetched 5,400 pounds in two separate transactions this month, one yesterday and the other March 9, equaling the previous record low set in November.
