China’s southwestern Yunnan province will support farmers and mills through stockpiling local sugar, an industry website said today.
Yunnan, China’s largest producing region after Guangxi, will buy 800,000 metric tons of refined white sugar until the end of June, yntw.com reported today, citing a joint statement from the local branches of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Finance and the central bank. The sugar has to be produced locally during the 2013-2014 season.
