Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay’s arrest will be reviewed under the NFL’s personal conduct policy.

Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay voluntarily checked himself into a rehabilitation facility, a day after being arrested on suspicion of intoxicated driving and possession of controlled substances.

Irsay, 54, faces four felony counts of possession of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor count of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated stemming from his arrest in the Indianapolis suburb of Carmel late on March 16, according to Bryant Orem, deputy public information officer at the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office. He was released the following day.

“Jim Irsay took the first step toward regaining good health,” the Colts said in a statement posted on their website. “He voluntarily checked into a highly respected health-care facility and is committed to undergoing the treatment and care necessary to help him meet his challenges head-on.”

A hearing has been tentatively set for March 26, the team said in a separate statement.

Irsay’s arrest will be reviewed under the NFL’s personal conduct policy and he is subject to discipline, Brian McCarthy, a spokesman for the league, said in an e-mail.
