Brazil Drought Spurs Water Rationing by Water Utility

Brazil’s largest water utility, Cia de Saneamento Basico do Estado de Sao Paulo, is limiting the amount of water it supplies to cities in Sao Paulo state as its primary source falls to its lowest level ever.
The national water agency and the state water department said that Sabesp, as the Sao Paulo-based company is known, must reduce the water drained from the Cantareira reservoir by 15.5 percent, according to the utility’s website.
