New Greek Power Company to Have 2,690 MW Capacity: Kathimerini

New power company to be carved out of Public Power Corp (PPC) and sold to investors, as part of privatization plans of Greece’s largest electricity provider, will have total production capacity of 2,690 MW, Kathimerini newspaper reports, without citing anyone.

Kathimerini also says: * So-called small PPC to have 3 existing lignite-powered plants, license for a fourth * New co. to also have 3 hydroplants, 1 natural gas-fired plant * Small PPC to get ~1,398 PPC employees who work in earmarked plants, mines * NOTE Dec. 18 : Greece to Sell 66% Stake in PPC’s Power Transmission Operator *NOTE May 15: Greece Details Plans for Public Power Privatization
