Markit Final February Index of U.S. Manufacturing Rises to 57.1

The Markit Economics final index of U.S. manufacturing rose in February to 57.1 from 53.7 a month earlier, the London-based group said today.
A figure greater than 50 for the purchasing managers’ measure indicates expansion. The median forecast in a Bloomberg survey of economists called for no change from the preliminary reading of 56.7. Estimates ranged from 49.5 to 57.2.
