Republicans’ Immigration Deal Makes No Sense

Jan. 31 (Bloomberg) -- House Republicans who want toadvance what they call “comprehensive immigration reform” saythey’ve found a workable compromise, one that allays theconcerns of opponents, improves current policy and allows theparty to make gains among Hispanics.

Their big idea: Illegal immigrants who meet variousconditions should be allowed to work in the U.S. legally, butnot to get on a fast track to citizenship.
