Mandela the Politician

Dec. 8 (Bloomberg) -- Media consultant Frank Greer and Iwere invited in 1993 to speak to a workshop for 80 AfricanNational Congress campaign organizers, including Nelson Mandelaand his top people. Our talk was a mix of high strategy andtechnical campaign mechanics. When we finished, Mandela, sittingin the front row, raised his hand and asked the first question.

“In your experience,” he asked, “is it better to have alow building with functions spread out across a few big floorsor to have a tall building with functions on each of manyfloors?”
