China Stops Importing New Zealand Milk Powder, Minister Says

China has stopped all imports of New Zealand milk powders after Auckland-based dairy producer Fonterra Cooperative Group Ltd. warned of a contaminated ingredient, Trade Minister Tim Groser said.
The decision by Chinese authorities is “appropriate,” Groser told Television New Zealand in an interview broadcast today. Fonterra has said that an ingredient used in baby formula and other food showed strains of bacteria.
