French Vine Development Seen by Ciatti Slowed After Rain in June

Wet and cold weather in June in France, especially Bordeaux, Loire Valley and Burgundy, is not helping vine development, which is two to three weeks behind schedule, according to wine and grape broker Ciatti Co.

In California, producers are wondering if they will have enough storage space for incoming fruit after a record 2012 crop, San Rafael, California-based Ciatti, which says it’s the world’s largest broker of bulk wines, said in a report e-mailed yesterday.
