Siemens Reaps $1.3 Billion Order Boost From Brazilian World Cup

Siemens AG, Europe’s largest engineering company, said it has about 1 billion euros ($1.3 billion) in infrastructure project orders related to Brazil’s 2014 soccer World Cup and 2016 Olympic Games.

The investments include safety and building systems for the Mane Garrincha National Stadium in Brasilia, and energy management systems for the nation’s national grid operator, Siemens said in an e-mailed statement today.
