Natural gas rose in New York for the first time in six days as hot weather forecast for the central U.S. signaled higher demand from power plants to run air conditioners.

The futures gained 0.2 percent as MDA Weather Services in Gaithersburg, Maryland, predicted hotter-than-normal weather in Texas and the Midwest in mid-June. Dallas will reach 95 degrees Fahrenheit (35 Celsius) on June 15, 3 higher than usual, according to AccuWeather Inc. in State College, Pennsylvania. New York will reach 75 degrees, 4 below normal.
