DirecTV’s Siri Clone Brings Familiar Voice to Remote-Control App
This article is for subscribers only.
When DirecTV customers download the satellite-TV company’s new remote-control application to their smartphones, they’ll hear a familiar voice.
The app, which lets users control the television by talking to their phones, also responds in the same artificial intonations as Apple Inc.’s Siri. The DirecTV app will be available on Android devices in addition to iPhones, meaning the voice that’s come to be associated with Siri will be piping up in new places.
