Zinc Losing Streak Longest Since ’89 as Metals Drop Most in Year

Zinc capped the longest losing streak in at least two decades and industrial metals fell the most in a year on concern economies from the U.S. to China are struggling to maintain growth.

Figures on April 15 will show China’s economy expanded at an 8 percent annual pace last quarter, slower than projected in February, according to economists surveyed by Bloomberg News. The country is the world’s biggest zinc consumer. Reports today showed declines in consumer confidence and retail sales in the U.S., while U.K. construction fell from a year earlier.
