General Motors Co., the largest U.S. automaker, is shaking up its advertising agencies just a year after a joint venture was created for its Chevrolet brand, according to two people familiar with the efforts.
The automaker, based in Detroit, is working to shift the bulk of Chevrolet’s advertising business to Interpublic Group of Cos. Inc.’s McCann Erickson Worldwide, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the changes aren’t final. The work has been handled by a joint venture between McCann and Omnicom Group Inc.’s Goodby, Silverstein & Partners.
