Enel Green Power Starts up Three Wind Farms in Romania

Enel Green Power SpA (EGPW) connected three wind farms with a total capacity of 206 megawatts to the Romanian grid, the Rome-based company said today in an e-mailed statement.

The three projects -- Elcomex EOL, Targusor and Gebelesis - - cost about 340 million euros ($448 million) to build, and bring Enel Green Power’s total installed wind capacity in Romania to about 500 megawatts, the statement shows.

Elcomex EOL, also called Zephir I, has 52 2.3-megawatt turbines, for a total capacity of 120 megawatts, the company said. Targusor, or Zephir II, has 26 2.3-megawatt devices, totaling 60 megawatts, and Gebelesis has five 3-megawatt turbines and six 2-megawatt machines for a total of 27 megawatts. The three projects are in Romania’s Dobrogea region.
