Copper Set for Biggest Weekly Gain in Four on U.S. Data

Copper climbed, poised for the biggest weekly advance in four, after data showed the U.S. labor market and housing strengthened, and as lawmakers in the biggest user of the metal after China sought to resolve a budget impasse.

Metal for delivery in three months gained as much as 0.5 percent to $7,955.25 a metric ton on the London Metal Exchange, and was at $7,935 as of 2:04 p.m. Shanghai time. Futures have advanced 4.4 percent this year and 1.3 percent this week, the biggest weekly rise since the week to Nov. 30. Copper for April delivery was little changed at 57,570 yuan ($9,237) a ton on the Shanghai Futures Exchange.
