Oct. 16 (Bloomberg) -- Imagine a parallel universe in whichfederal law prohibited Americans from paying anyone to care fortheir children, whether in cash or in some other “valuableconsideration,” and where paid child care was similarlyrepugnant and illegal throughout most of the world.
In this alternate reality, family bonds would simply bedeemed too sacred and children too precious to permit the taintof commercial transactions.
