Itron Inc. (ITRI), a U.S. maker of water meters, won a contract to supply about 11,000 high-efficiency metering devices for a water utility in Moldova.
The Liberty Lake, Washington-based company said today that it was selected to supply advanced residential water meters equipped with communication modules and the fixed network infrastructure where consumption data will be transmitted for Servicii Comunale Floresti customers in Floresti, Moldova.
No terms were disclosed for the contract, which Sergiu Rusu, director of Servicii Comunale Floresti, said was partly financed by the World Bank and European Bank of Reconstruction and Development as part of the area’s water distribution network modernization upgrades.
