Chevron Shrugs Off Iraq Opposition to Kurdish Oil Deals

Chevron Corp. (CVX) agreed to buy Reliance Industries Ltd. (RIL)’s 80 percent stake in two blocks covering about 490 square miles (1,124 square kilometers) in Iraq’s Kurdistan region.
Chevron’s partners in the blocks are OMV Rovi GmbH and OMV Sarta GmbH, according to a company statement issued today. No terms were announced.
