Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas named a street after Russian President Vladimir Putin near his residence in the West Bank town of Bethlehem.

The street is officially being renamed today, during Putin’s visit, according to a plaque on a wall of an administrative building in Bethlehem. Abbas named a street after Putin’s predecessor, now-Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, in Jericho near the Dead Sea in January.
