Jeremy Stein, a Harvard University economics professor, was sworn in today as a member of the Federal Reserve’s Board of Governors, the central bank said.

Stein was nominated by President Barack Obama in December to replace Governor Kevin Warsh for an unexpired term ending in January 2018, the Fed said in a statement today. Stein and Jerome Powell, an attorney and private equity investor, were confirmed by the U.S. Senate on May 17.
