Sweden’s central bank is considering building a portfolio of krona bonds that would make it better prepared to deal with financial crises.

Building a portfolio would put needed technical and legal infrastructure in place to support markets if financial conditions deteriorate, Heidi Elmer, an official at the Stockholm-based Riksbank’s monetary policy department, said today on the phone.
