Ghana will need $1 billion annually to adapt to climate change, Business and Financial Times reported, citing Jeremias Blaser, deputy country director of the United Nations Development Programme.

Desertification, droughts, floods and a decline in fresh water resources have made the West African nation vulnerable to climate-change threats, Blaser was cited by the Accra-based newspaper as saying.
