Feb. 23 (Bloomberg) -- Perhaps my biggest frustration withthe U.S. news media (and yes, I am a card-carrying member) isthat we permit the two parties to decide what is “left” and whatis “right.” The way it works, roughly, is that anythingDemocrats support becomes “left,” and everything Republicanssupport becomes “right.”
There are good reasons for this. It isn’t the media’s jobto police political ideologies, and it wouldn’t be a good ideafor us to try. But that leaves ordinary voters in a bit of atough spot.
