French President Nicolas Sarkozy and German Chancellor Angela Merkel urged Greek Prime Minister Lucas Papademos to fulfill all commitments, including those agreed to at last month’s Eurogroup summit, or risk not getting the next tranche of aid, Sarkozy’s office said in a statement.

In a separate telephone conversation, Sarkozy and Merkel also discussed the steps needed to accelerate the process, according to the statement. Both reaffirmed their full determination to defend the euro, Sarkozy’s office said.
