Bill Cowher, who won a Super Bowl during 15 seasons as the Pittsburgh Steelers’ coach, said he won’t return to coaching next season and will remain with CBS Sports as a National Football League analyst.
Cowher coached the Steelers from 1992 to 2006 and the NFL Network reported last week that associates of Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross had contacted Cowher’s agent about the 54-year-old possibly replacing Tony Sparano. The Dolphins fell to 0-7 with yesterday’s 20-17 loss to the New York Giants.
