Netflix to Stream Movies, TV Shows in U.K. and Ireland in 2012

Netflix Inc., a U.S. provider of mail-order films and streaming video, will begin selling subscriptions in the U.K. and Ireland in 2012, putting it in competition with Amazon.com Inc’s LoveFilm.
The company’s streaming service, which lets users watch movies and television shows via an Internet connection, will be available in the two countries early next year, Netflix said in a statement today. Details on pricing and content were not disclosed.
