RBC Capital Names Barclays’s Goldberg to Co-Head U.S. Unit

RBC Capital Markets, the investment- banking unit of Royal Bank of Canada (RY), named former Barclays Capital executive Michael Goldberg a managing director and co- head of its U.S. equity-capital markets group.

Goldberg, 46, will co-lead the group with Joe Morea, RBC Capital said in an e-mailed statement today. He will report to Blair Fleming, U.S. investment-banking head. Goldberg was a managing director at Barclays’s equity-capital markets group.

He is RBC’s second hire from Barclays in as many days. Steve Feinstein, previously a managing director at Barclays, will head the corporate-derivatives marketing group, the Toronto-based lender said yesterday.

Royal Bank, Canada’s largest lender by assets, has been building its U.S. investment-banking group. The unit now includes 370 people and has about 120 people in the U.K.
