Russia Pledges to Remain Syria’s Friend Whoever Is in Power

Russia called for an end to violence in Syria and said it will remain a friend of the Syrian people regardless of who is in power in the Middle Eastern country.
“Politicians come and go, social systems come and go, but Russia’s only reliable friend is the Syrian people,” Mikhail Margelov, Russia’s envoy to Africa, said today after meeting a delegation of Syrian opposition activists in Moscow.
