June 27 (Bloomberg) -- Here is something I’ve learned youshouldn’t say to candidates for next year’s Republicanpresidential nomination: “So, I guess you represent the JohnMcCain-Lindsey Graham foreign-policy wing in this race.”
I made this observation the other day to Tim Pawlenty, theformer governor of Minnesota, and he winced. It wasn’t a run ofthe mill wince; it was, as they say, an audible wince. McCainand Graham are both deeply crosswise with conservativeactivists, the sort of people who participate in caucuses inIowa and vote in the New Hampshire primaries.
