Rusal Forecasts 2011 Aluminum Price at $2,600 to $2,800

United Co. Rusal, the world’s largest aluminum producer, said prices will average between $2,600 and $2,800 a metric ton this year.

Rusal’s First Deputy Chief Executive Vladislav Soloviev announced the prices to reporters in Hong Kong today.

The price for three-month delivery has averaged $2,575 a ton this year and was $2,531 today at 4:48 p.m. Hong Kong time on the London Metal exchange. Prices may rise to as much as $3,000 in 2012, Steve Hodgson, Rusal’s head of marketing said on June 14.
