FBI Holds James ‘Whitey’ Bulger, Wanted for 19 Murders, AP Says

Federal Bureau of Investigation agents arrested James “Whitey” Bulger, a Boston gang leader wanted in connection with 19 murders, after 16 years on the run, the Associated Press reported, citing Santa Monica police spokesman Sergeant Rudy Flores.

Bulger, on the FBI’s “Ten Most Wanted” list, was captured near Los Angeles; a former FBI informant, he fled Boston just before he was to be indicted, the newswire said.
