Real Approach

Arsenal has told Real Madrid that it must pay at least 54 million pounds ($88.3 million) to sign Cesc Fabregas, the Sun reported.

Real made an approach for the Gunners captain this week, according to the Sun, which said Barcelona isn’t prepared to increase the 30 million pound bid it made last year.

Klose Bid

Everton is trying to sign Bayer Munich striker Miroslav Klose, the Daily Mirror reported.

The 32-year-old Klose, who has scored 14 World Cup goals for Germany, becomes a free agent when his contract expires after this month, the Mirror said.

Liverpool Pair

Liverpool wants to sign Sunderland teammates Lee Cattermole and Jordan Henderson, the Daily Telegraph reported.

Midfielder Cattermole would cost about 10 million pounds and Henderson 14 million pounds, the Telegraph said.

QPR Reshuffle

Queens Park Rangers may bid for Millwall striker Steve Morison after releasing eight players, Metro reported.

Rangers let go full-back Pascal Chimbonda and midfielder Gavin Mahon among other squad members, the newspaper added.

Messi Dodge

Lionel Messi was unhurt when a young fan tried to punch the Barcelona forward outside a restaurant in his hometown in Argentina, where the 23-year-old is preparing for next month’s Copa America, the Daily Mail said.
