Bridgepoint Rises After Being Named Best Stock Pick

(Corrects name of contest winner in third paragraph.)

Bridgepoint Education Inc. (BPI) rose the most in more than six months after the company was picked as the best investment idea at the Ira Sohn conference today in New York.

Bridgepoint gained as much as 15 percent, the most since Nov. 2, and rose $2.37, or 12 percent, to $22.84 at 3:40 p.m. in New York Stock Exchange composite trading.

Sunjay Gorawara, a 21-year-old business and finance student at Indiana University who submitted Bridgepoint to the contest, said he expects the stock to rise to $47 in the coming year. He is due to start next month at JPMorgan Chase & Co. as an analyst in the investment banking division
