Belarus Devalues Ruble to 4,930 Per Dollar, Interfax Reports

Belarus’s central bank set its official ruble exchange rate for tomorrow at 4,930 per dollar, which amounts to a devaluation of 36 percent, Interfax reported, citing unidentified people familiar with the decision.
The official dollar-ruble rate for today was set at 3,155 per dollar, according to the central bank’s website.
Anatoly Drozdov, a spokesman for the central bank, declined to comment on the report, adding that the regulator plans to release a statement today on its currency policy.
