ArcelorMittal Kazakh Mine Fire Forces Evacuation of 319 Workers

A fire broke out at a Kazakh coal mine operated by ArcelorMittal’s local unit, prompting the evacuation of 319 workers, the Kazakh Emergencies Ministry said.

Nobody was injured in the blaze at the Kostenko mine, which emergency workers were still trying to extinguish at 9:30 a.m. local time, the ministry said in a statement on its website.
