Sinopec Chairman Su Shulin Resigns to Take Government Post

China Petroleum & Chemical Corp. Chairman Su Shulin resigned with immediate effect to take up a new position and Vice Chairman Wang Tianpu will take over his duties until a replacement is appointed, the company, also known as Sinopec Corp., said in a statement to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange today.

Su has been appointed acting governor of Fujian province, the provincial People’s Congress said in a statement on its website on April 11.
